Morton Subotnick with Tony Martin
Two Performances

Times and prices

Electronic music pioneer Morton Subotnick is joined by painter and visual performer Tony Martin for two special concerts. Featured works include new pieces from the Gestures series for multiple laptops and new versions of the electronic works Sidewinder (1971, rev. 2003) and Until Spring (1975, rev. 2003). One of the founders of CalArts' School of Music, Subotnick has been a true innovator in working with interactive computer music systems. Martin, recognized as one of the foremost creators of the light shows of the 1960s, uses custom-designed computer programming for visual performances and also recreates his unique combined projector techniques for what he calls "painting in time."
